Sanctuary Retreats

Sanctuary Retreats are rooted in ancient yogic wisdom and our co-founder Emma Abhijeeta's 25+ years experience living and teaching yoga & meditation all over the world, combined with a passion for living as Truth and embodying Love.

Emma is here as a living inspiration to support your evolution and offer you guidance at all stages of the journey.

All retreats give you access to Sacred Hearth Sanctuary's 35 acres of exquisite grounds, a walking track through the pristine old growth rainforest that borders the property, the Yoga Temple, a freshwater dam for swimming, delicious, wholesome vegetarian meals, daily seva (selfless service to harmonise the head, heart & hand) and a carefully designed retreat program to purify and ignite deep transformation at all levels of being.

Share communal meals in the dining-lounge room with magnificent views to Mount Boogarem, gather in the Yoga Temple to receive teaching and guidance, participate in sacred ceremony on the land, commune with nature, enjoy healing and massage from one of our experienced therapists, share stories around the fire pit, swim in the freshwater dam, take in the scenery from one of the many decks.

Walk through the old growth rainforest to the Sacred Spring or wander around the grounds. Pay a visit to the grandfather camphor tree, the 'elephant' fig in the paddock, sit with the majestic cedar tree in the fairy glen. There are many hidden spots where you can take time to be with yourself and immerse in silence.

Why retreat?

To 'retreat' is to take time out from daily worries, concerns and distractions and meet ourselves in the tenderness of the Heart.  When we gather together in this way - in Truth, in openness and honesty, the vibration of Love is amplified.

There is nothing more important than awakening to the Truth of who we are.  We were born to know ourselves as Love.  To know that Love is service to the whole of humanity.

"Happiness is your nature. It is not wrong to desire it. What is wrong is seeking it outside when it is inside"

Gratitude

Following your Meeting in the Heart retreat I'm still experiencing an opening of the heart and within a deep tenderness and connection to my Truth. It feels so timely to have met you and to sit in the space with you where your presence, your words, your stillness and authenticity spoke to me in a profound way.
The work we did in the group broke through another layer of resistance and although at the time I felt a degree of discomfort I am ever closer to the Truth of who I am. Deep gratitude for bringing this challenging work to us with beauty and serenity.
– Alison
I would like to thank you once more for the retreat. It was so good to find that space where I can just be and breathe no matter what happens on an emotional level. I enjoyed the gentle flow of the exercises that enabled me to surrender to what was present at every moment.

Thank you also for the silent walk in the beautiful woods and for your heart felt connection with the earth and your love of the rain nourishing it. It deeply inspired me and opened a new sense of communion with nature.
– Carine
Abhijeeta is the best Yoga teacher I have had. What she does is subtle but effective.
She really made me feel at home as a beginner.
– Paul
Had the most beautiful Thai yoga massage today with Abhijeeta ... first full body nurturing session since pregnancy and gosh did my body need it! I felt the intense holding in my muscles and bones which began to soften half way through the massage until I felt a warm glow and a sense of whole-bodyness and I feel absolutely comfy in my body and in balance once again.
Abhijeeta held such a loving safe space as she massaged and stretched me allowing tears to flow and insights to surface. I could dive deep into what my body needed me to know and I am so grateful to feel so aligned again ... I highly recommend treating yourself to a nourishing
session with my lovely friend and sister xxx
– Johanna
Words limit the depth of experience I have encountered sitting in circle with sisters of the ‘Shakti Women's Temple’ at Zu Studios. Each session is carved out of sharing the remarkable individual sister’s journeys, underpinned by the collective journey that resonates deep within each one of us. These are extraordinary times and to share how individuals respond to their journeys is profound, to say the least. I am deeply grateful to have found this space to support my journey with my 21 year old son who is currently exploring an integrated treatment approach to cancer. What a gift, to be blessed with a space to find meaning, to connect and feel supported, to talk, listen, laugh, cry, touch, hug, sing, dance, move and to find stillness. Thank you Abhijeeta for you abundant love and facilitating this extraordinary Shakti Temple!
– Kriyasagar

and we extend that respect to other Indigenous people who are present.
